Privacy Policy

1 Data We Collect

We collect anonymous, non-personal usage data to improve the game experience, as described below. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any data that could directly identify you. Our app also uses third-party services that may collect data independently.

2 Advertising (Google AdMob)

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads depending on your consent. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

3a Analytics (TelemetryDeck)

We use TelemetryDeck to collect anonymous gameplay and usage data to help us improve the game experience. TelemetryDeck may collect the following information:

• Device information (device model, screen resolution, architecture, platform)
• Operating system version
• App version and build type
• Language, region, and locale settings (derived from system settings, not GPS)
• Accessibility preferences (e.g. reduce motion, bold text, color scheme)
• Session data (session start, session end, session duration)
• Retention metrics (first session date, number of days the app was used, total session count, average session duration)
• Gameplay events (game start, game end, score, actions taken in-game)
• Error reports (error type and category, no personal data included)
• Ad interaction events (ad impressions, consent status)

To identify unique devices, a randomly generated anonymous identifier is created and stored locally on your device. This identifier is double-hashed by TelemetryDeck before being stored on their servers and cannot be used to personally identify you. All collected data is anonymized. 3b Analytics (Exblox Telemetry)

Starting from version 1.8.1, we also collect anonymous gameplay and usage data using our own secure analytics backend to help us improve the game experience. The following information may be collected:

• Device information (device model, screen resolution, architecture, platform)
• Operating system version
• App version and build type
• Language and locale settings (derived from system settings, not GPS)
• Session data (session start, session end, session duration)
• Retention metrics (number of days the app was used, total session count)
• Gameplay events (game start, game end, score, actions taken in-game)
• Error reports (error type and category, no personal data included)
• Ad interaction events (ad impressions, consent status)

Data is stored on our own servers and is not shared with third parties.

4 Consent (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent before personalized ads are shown. You can change your consent at any time in the app settings.

5 Data Retention

Game progress and settings are stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to this data.

Anonymous analytics data collected via Exblox Telemetry (section 3b) is stored on our secure servers for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Analytics data collected by TelemetryDeck (section 3a) is subject to their own retention policy.

6 Children's Privacy

SteelGrid is not specifically directed at children. While the game content is suitable for all ages (PEGI 3), the app is not designed, marketed, or intended for use by children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (as defined by COPPA) or under 16 (as defined by GDPR) without verifiable parental consent. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

Advertising is served based on the user's consent status, not based on age. Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise their children's use of the app and to contact us if they have any concerns.

7 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
